An independent studio since 2002.

Twenty painters across three generations, working by hand in our own studio in Xiamen. This is how we got here, and why we paint.

How we got here

  1. 1993

    Training begins

    One of our founders begins studying at Xiamen University's art college, under Zhang Liping, the college's dean.

  2. The early years

    Learning from masters

    Our founders paint for established masters, learning the trade the way painters always have.

  3. 2002

    Our own studio

    The founders open their own studio in Xiamen. Over the years, painters from the Shenyang Academy of Painting and art schools across China join them.

  4. 2007

    Xiamen Velaturo Art Co., Ltd.

    The studio becomes a registered company and begins working directly with buyers abroad.

  5. Today

    Twenty painters, three generations

    Senior, mid-career and young painters, working for brands, wholesalers and designers in Europe, North America and the Middle East.

We are painters first.

For many of us, painting is the only work we've done for more than twenty years. We still care about the same thing we cared about at the start: that a painting is beautiful when it's finished.

We'd rather be chosen for our work than for our price. A painting that's rushed, or printed underneath, carries nothing to the person who hangs it. One painted with care does.

If our paintings make a home, a hotel or an office a little more beautiful, we've done what we set out to do.

What we take on

Custom paintings from our clients' photos and designs, our own original series sold under our clients' brands, and commissions for interiors, from a single lobby piece to a whole property. Reproductions of public-domain works are available; we don't copy living artists.

Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00 (UTC+8). Visitors are welcome by appointment; tell us a day ahead. Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport is twenty minutes away.
